Charles Edward Hensley Sr.

Charles Edward Hensley Sr., age 74, husband of Vicky (Soos) Hensley of Exeter Township, PA gained his wings on May 22, 2023, at Reading Hospital. He was born on August 1, 1948, in Kermit, WV to the late Zinnia (Johnson) and Waburn Hensley.

Charles served our country as a Sergeant in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After his time in the service, he worked as a truck driver and diesel mechanic for Overnight Transportation.

Charlie was a friendly, sociable man who made friends no matter where he went. Never having an enemy, he was known as a kind and selfless individual who loved to help others. Charlie loved to spend time with his family, camping, spending time on his boat traveling the Chesapeake, snowmobiling, jet skiing, or simply spending time floating on his canoe at Hopewell. His favorite vacation was going on cruises with Vicky or traveling the country in his motorhome. He was an avid collector of many things and in his free time, he enjoyed tinkering with projects and creations, going to casinos, and attending auctions. However, what he enjoyed most was being with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Charles leaves behind his loving wife, Vicky Hensley; son, Charles Edward Hensley Jr., husband of Rebecca of Limerick, PA; daughters, Lori Trupp, wife of Dennis of Exeter, PA, and Charlena Fisher of Ohio. He is also survived by his grandchildren: David, Jacob, Anthony, Ava, Lena, and Drew.

A service will be held at 12:30 pm on May 31, 2023, at Limerick Garden of Memories Good Shepherd Chapel Mausoleum (44 Swamp Pike, Limerick, PA 19468). A visitation will be held prior in the chapel from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. Burial will immediately follow the service at Limerick Garden of Memories. Rev. Barry L. Moyer will be officiating. Arrangements are handled by the Linwood W. Ott Funeral Home in Boyertown, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Charles' honor to Zoe's House Animal Rescue in Sinking Springs, PA.
