William ‘Bill’ Francis Daley was born in 1941 to Mary Flannigan, where he was raised in Lackawanna with his two brothers, Michael and Dennis. Bill joined the US Army in 1961 and served overseas in Germany until 1963, but continued his service in the Reserves until 1967. After his service in the US Army Bill had a 42 year career at Bethlehem Steel while raising his two children, Denise Fox and Kevin Daley. In 1983, Bill met his soulmate Norma; and gained his two step children, Cheryl and Dale Lindstrom. Bill and Norma have spent 40 years sharing all the good and bad that life brought them together. During their 40 years together, they enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and Florida, spending weekends at his cabin, dancing together, and spending time with friends. Bill was an avid golfer and spent every nice day that he could on the golf course with friends. He also loved meeting his friends for coffee, being at his cabin in Angelica, playing baseball, and reading books about history.
Bill will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Norma; his children Denise (Scott Rathbun) Fox and Kevin (Michelle) Daley; his step children Cheryl (Roy Decibus) Lindstrom and Dale Lindstrom; his grandchildren Kelly (Marc) Deschamps, Brian (Kelli) Buck, Stacy (Kevin Richlmayr) Greiner, Chris Haulton Jr, and William Fox; his great grandchildren Gavin Buck, Amelia Haulton, Owen Greiner, Olivia Deschamps, Kelsi Buck, Emily Greiner, Eliza Buck, and Quinn Deschamps; his niece, nephews, and all who knew him as ‘Uncle Billy’; and his many close and loving friends.
Memorials can be made in his name to Disabled American Veterans, Hospice, and St. Jude.
