He was preceded in death by his mother Joann Salfield Cummins, his father Fred Marsh and wife Jane, his nephew Matthew Casey and his brother-in-law Dick Hall.
Paul was born in 1956 in Columbus, Ohio. Paul graduated from Purdue University in 1979 with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and later an MBA from Michigan State University in finance. He founded Michigan Polymer Reclaim Inc. in 1991, achieved success in business and retired early to pursue his life’s passions of education, traveling, health and fitness, flying his airplane and spending time with his beloved children and grandchildren.
Flying his airplane was one of his great passions, and it filled him with a sense of freedom that he truly cherished. He would take trips throughout the winter to ski in Colorado and used it to visit family and friends around the country. He made frequent trips to visit his grandchildren, spending his time being fun and silly with them. He loved doing projects and sharing his knowledge with them. They adored him for making each one of them feel like the center of the world.
Paul had a deep passion for learning. He was a brilliant individual, constantly seeking new knowledge and striving to understand the world around him on a deeper level. During his retirement he re-enrolled in college to pursue a degree in meteorology. It was a frequent family joke to ask what he planned to do with this degree and how many more he planned to pursue. The family never found out the answer to that but are certain that, knowing him, there was most definitely something next. His quest for knowledge was endless.
Paul is survived by his two children, Kimberly (Christopher) Cryderman and Andrew (Erin) Marsh, grandchildren Andrew, Caroline and Grace and siblings Linda Hall, Jay Casey and Kathy Casey, and niece Kelly Casey.
Above all the family wants to remember Paul for his kindness and ability to find the positive in life. He will be sorely missed.
A celebration of his life will take place during the spring of 2025 in the Lansing, Michigan area. Please check this website for updates as they become available.
