MOWATT, John Southwick of Clarence, NY. March 27, 2020. Beloved husband of the late Dorene J. Mowatt (nee Rose). Cherished father of Linda (David) Hees, Susan Mowatt (Juan Adrover), and the late Donalyn (Michael) Saia. Grandfather to David, Andrew, Timothy & Jeremy Hees. Son of the late David S. and Edith H. (Berg) Mowatt, brother to the late David B. Mowatt, Edith C. Jesernig, the late Charles P. Mowatt, and Grace H. Burritt.
He was a graduate of Kenmore High School and the University of Buffalo, where he was president of the UB chapter of Alpha Phi Omega fraternity. He worked as an accountant for many years for Harold C. Brown & Co. and was appointed Director of Community Development for Erie County in 1978, where he served until his retirement.
He and his wife were long time members of the Harris Hill United Methodist Church.
A burial of ashes will be held at a later date. If desired, memorials may be made to Harris Hill United Methodist Church (harrishillumc.org).
