On Sunday, May 30, 2021, Salvador F. Tinio entered peacefully into eternal rest. He is
the loving husband of Lilia S. Tinio and the father of three sons, Dr. Lawrence Tinio, Dr.
Salvador Tinio, Jr., and Andrew Tinio. He is blessed with seven grandchildren, namely
Andre, Loy, Carol, Raphael, Philip, Andres and Alyssa. He is also survived by his sister,
Dr. Maria Esperanza T. Kabatay.
Salvador was born on June 12, 1942, in Cabanatuan City, Philippines. He was the son
of Carolina Fernandez and Dr. Magdaleno Tinio. He was one of two siblings.
During Salvador’s high school years at Lasalette High School, Santiago Isabella, he
graduated as the Valedictorian of his class. While attending college at Ateneo De
Manila, he received his Bachelor of Science in Political Science, before attending law
school. When practicing as an attorney, he developed and ran his own private practice
in the Philippines. In 1993, Salvador and his family relocated to Maryland, USA.
He is the beloved husband of Lilia S. Tinio, who passed away on January 5, 2019. Lilia
S. Tinio was a Certified Public Accountant. Salvador and Lilia were married on
December 16, 1967. They raised three sons, two practicing as ophthalmologists and
one reaching excellence in the music field.
He is forever remembered for his kindness and thoughtfulness, and his love for classical
music, playing the violin, gardening, and love for books.
Family will receive friends at the Robert E. Evans Funeral Home 16000
Annapolis Rd, in Bowie, MD from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Friday, June 11, with a
Mass of Christian Burial to follow on Saturday June 12 at 11 AM at St. Edward
the Confessor - 1940 Mitchellville Rd, Bowie, MD
