Robert W. Elgin Sr.

April 26, 1944- May 15, 2011, of Bowie, MD.

Beloved husband of Judith A. Elgin; Devoted father of Andrew and Robert and step-father of Sharon, and Dennis. Son of the late Charles, Sr. and Myrtle Elgin. Also survived by a sister, Carol Emerson and a brother John Elgin; Cherished by 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, along with many nieces and nephews. Mr. Elgin was the oldest of triplets born to the late Charles and Myrtle Elgin. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Andrew and Charles Jr. (Bucky); and a sister, Sharon Finamore.

Once retired, Mr. Elgin cherished the opportunity to enjoy time with his family and pursue his favorite hobby, stamp collecting. He was an active member of 3 stamp clubs: The Bowie Stamp Club, Annapolis Stamp Club and The Senior Stamp Club. He was always looking for "That Stamp". Other passions included fishing, crabbing, and electronics.

Relatives and friends may call at the Robert E. Evans Funeral Home (Rt. 450 and Race Track Rd. Bowie, MD 20715) on Friday, May 20, 2011 from 6-8 PM and Saturday May 21 from 10 until time of service at 11 AM. Interment is private.
