Robert Earl Dahms Jr.

Robert "Bob" Earl Dahms Jr., 64, a 24-year resident of Bowie, and previously of Traer, Iowa, died June 23 of a heart attack. He was born May 14, 1949 in Cedar Falls, Iowa to his late parents, Robert and Jayne Dahms. Bob earned a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland, where he was the Assistant Director of the Physics Department.

Bob was a Civil War buff, who also enjoyed gardening with his wife, the outdoors, and playing with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Michael P. Dahms.

Married in 1971, he is survived by his beloved wife of 41 and 1/2 years, Anita; his sons, Robert Aaron Dahms of Crofton, and Jon Dahms of Frostburg; daughter, Rachel G. Swingler of Hanover, PA; brother, Richard Dahms of Bowie; sister, Rebecca Dahms-Lioi of Catonsville; and four grandchildren.

Friends and family will gather from 2 to 3 p.m., with a memorial service at 3 p.m., on Saturday, June 29, at the Robert E. Evans Funeral Home, 16000 Annapolis Rd., Bowie.
