Philip grew up in Durham, NC where he met his wife of sixty years. His father owned a printshop in Chapel Hill, NC where he helped out. He learned the trade which led him to his 36 year career at the Government Printing Office in Washington, DC. Philip loved sports. He grew up playing football and baseball. He played High School baseball and some semi-pro baseball. He moved to Maryland in 1967 where he and his wife raised their three children. He was a Godly man attending Grace Lutheran Church and Mt. He was a wonderful man and was always involved in his children’s and grandchildren’s sports, dance recitals, motocross and cheerleading. He never liked missing an event. He loved taking his family on vacation every year to either Morehead Beach, NC or Myrtle Beach, SC. He continued going to Myrtle Beach later in life with his children and grandchildren. He was a lifelong Tarheel fan especially basketball. We will miss him singing along with classic country songs as he knew the lyrics to all of them.
He touched several people’s lives and was a witness to many over the years. He will be deeply missed as so many were loved by him.
