Mary G. Landers

Mary was born to Austin and Rhoda Gordon, June 25, 1929, in Bangor, Maine. She graduated from Bangor high school and went on to attend Beal College. After graduation, she moved to Washington DC where she worked as an executive assistant for the U.S. Patent office. She met the love of her life Harry M Landers at Calvary Episcopal church in Washington, DC. They married in 1961 and later moved to Massachusetts to raise their family. After all her children were grown, they returned to the Maryland/DC area to live out their senior years together.

She leaves as her legacy 3 daughters: Carol Landers, Rhoda Walton, and Heather Munroe. She also leaves 6 grandchildren Tyler Pam, Christian Pam, EJ Walton, Kennedi Munroe, Marissa Munroe and Elise Walton. She has 4 great-grandchildren. She also leaves 4 siblings and son-in-law Earl Walton to cherish her memory. Her children remember her as a loving, quick-witted, hardworking, and devoted mother. She was very charitable, and had a fond place in her heart for the US veterans of war.

She was preceded in death by Harry Landers, (Spouse), Dorothy Simmons, ( sister), and Louine Mcfadden, (sister).

A viewing is scheduled for Friday September 25, 6-8pm at Robert Evans funeral home located at 16000 Annapolis Rd, Bowie MD. Followed by a graveside service on Saturday September 26. 2020 at 12 noon at National Harmony Memorial park 7101 Sheriff Rd, Hyattsville MD 20785.
