Mary Jones

With sadness in our hearts, we are sorry to inform that Mary Samantha Jones, age 86, passed away on December 22, 2016 in Crofton Nursing Home in Crofton, Maryland. Mary was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 27, 1930 to Laura and William Jones. She had one sibling, her older brother, William Jones, Jr. who preceded her in death many years ago. Mary retired from the State of Michigan where she worked as a Social Worker for over 25 years. Mary had many interests, including genealogy, cross-country skiing and swimming. However, she was best known as a world traveler and was able to check many countries off her bucket list including China, Egypt, and Italy. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Sharon Burrell, her granddaughter, Nicole Stewart (husband Thomas) and two great grandchildren, Nicolas and Tommie. She will be sincerely missed by her daughter, granddaughter, family and friends.

A memorial service for Mary will be held on Saturday, December 31st at 11:00 am at the Robert E. Evans Funeral Home – 16000 Annapolis Road, Bowie, MD 20715.

If so moved, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Facial Pain Association in Memorial of Mary S. Jones would be appreciated.
