Jean was born in Concord, MA to the late Allan C. and Doris K. Cameron. She was preceded in death by her loving husband James H. Krause, her daughter Janet E. Moss, and her son-in-law Freddie H. Moss.
She is survived by her daughter Donna J. Messenger (Paul), her son Robert A. Krause, and her sister Margaret J. Leary.
She was a doting grandmother to Christine Lynch (Kevin), Katherine Allman, Erin Moss, Lindsay Smith (Matthew), Ryan Krause (Whitney), and Devin Krause.
Her great-grandchildren Lucas, Dylan, and Thomas Lynch; Victoria Smith; and Brannon, Bennett, Bryce, Tara, and Collin Krause brought her much joy.
Jean was a second mother and grandmother to others who knew her well and had several nieces and nephews.
Jean moved to Washington, D.C. at 18 years old and started her career with the Federal Government. She spent 29 years working at the Naval Research Laboratory before retiring in 1995.
Jean was a talented pianist who started playing at a young age and continued to play her keyboard regularly up to the end. She was a Washington, D.C. sports fan who rarely missed a football, baseball, or hockey game on TV. She enjoyed cheering on her favorite NASCAR driver Joey Logano from the start of his career. Jean loved her trips to Las Vegas where she could test her luck at the slots. She enjoyed being around people, loved a good joke, and always had a smile on her face.
Jean was a true inspiration, living life to the fullest. She was dearly loved by many and will be truly missed by all.
A graveside service for Jean will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2022 from 11:00 AM at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 4111 Pennsylvania Ave, Capital Heights, MD 20746.
