The family and friends of Jamie Ann Williamson were deeply saddened at her sudden passing on November 17, 2024. Jamie was born on December 23, 1983. She was a Christmas baby and always delighted in holiday celebrations. Most of Jamie’s life was spent in Maryland, primarily in the Glenn Dale, Bowie, and Edgewater areas.
Her early summers always included a vacation on Lake Winnipesaukee in Moultonborough, New Hampshire. It was there, at her grandparents’ cottage, that Jamie felt most at home. She returned to the lake to live for several months as an adult and brought her oldest child, Passion, to enjoy the beauty of the place that Jamie loved.
Jamie attended Saint Matthias the Apostle School in Lanham, Maryland through eighth grade. She spent her high school years between Archbishop Spalding in Severn, Maryland and Bowie High School, with one semester at Timberlane High in Atkinson, New Hampshire. She earned her degree in Psychology from AACC and was about to complete her counseling certification. She had previously worked as a real estate agent at Maryland Real Estate Sales.
Her hobbies included decorating and gardening. She enjoyed creating a cozy living space and brightened it with her plants and natural elements found at the beach and lake. Jamie also loved all animals, especially kitties, including her babies Onyx, Niko, Mister, and Cod.
Jamie’s three children were her world. Passion, 18, Fox, 6, and Desire, 1, gave her the pride and joy that filled her heart and were her hope for the future. She was never happier than when she was playing with one of her little ones; baby giggles were her favorite thing.
Jamie was not always healthy, and she suffered from joyful highs and some devastating lows. But through the ups and downs, she never lost her childlike sense of wonder and free spirit. She was a true rebel. She always believed that happiness lay just around the bend, and she charted her own path in search of her dreams.
A force of nature with a wild heart, the vagaries of the world made her journey a difficult one. She trusted as easily as she loved and felt compelled to be a friend to the friendless. She saw the good in everyone, and without judgment, endeavored to help those more careworn than herself. Her light was too bright to last, but the glow of its embers will continue to warm and comfort all those who loved her.
Jamie is lovingly remembered by her parents Maureen E. Whalen and James R. Williamson II, and stepfather, Michael P. Whalen, her sister, Tara L. Williamson, and her three beloved children.
A visitation for Jamie will be held Monday, December 9, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Robert E. Evans Funeral Home, 16000 Annapolis Road, Bowie, MD 20715.
A Mass of Christian Burial will occur Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at 1:00 PM at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 1800 Seton Dr, Crofton, MD 21114.
