Helen Louise Schindler, 77, of Bowie, Maryland, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2012, from heart failure caused by cancer. Helen is survived by her husband of 58 years, Joe; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Stephani and Pete Wolfe of Augusta, West Virginia; and Stacie and Doug Vermillion of Davidsonville, Maryland; along with three granddaughters, Madison Wolfe, Grace Vermillion, Penelope Vermillion; and one grandson, Griffin Vermillion.
Helen was born in 1935 in Kansas City, Missouri, and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she met her future husband, Joe. Helen obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree, Cum Laude, in 1985 from the University of Maryland. In addition to being a loving wife, mother and "Nana," Helen was an accomplished seamstress and creator of beautiful hand-made quilts.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes contributions be made to either Anne Arundel Medical Center, the American Cancer Society, or the Alzheimer's Association.
