I’m so shocked to hear the sad news. My condolences to the family. I can’t believe it! Since moving from NY 12 years ago and having all three of my girls have Dr. Sims as their pediatrician, I have been very blessed. When my girls wouldn’t listen to me Dr. Sims made sure they did. I appreciate her for that. She will be dearly missed.  May God continue to bless the family and keep you all strong. 

I was shocked and saddened today to hear of Dr. Sims passing. She was a godsend to me since moving to Maryland in 2006 with my special needs child. She was his champion, and coordinated his care with the specialists that he needed to see. We used to joke that my standard answer to almost anything the specialists wanted to change was "WDDSS" What did Doctor Sims Say. 

There are lots of doctors in this country but only a small percentage gave their heart and soul to the patients. That was Dr. Sims in a nutshell, I honestly don't know what I will do without her.

We were sad to hear of Dr. Georgette Sims passing, as she was a wonderful person and doctor to our five adopted girls over the past 15 years,   It's hard to forget someone who gave so much to remember.

No one ever looks forward to going to the doctor, but we always looked forward to seeing your smiling face. You always knew the answers and your delivery was beyond comforting. You raised my two girls Michael (8) and Maxon (3) since birth and have wiped their noses, washed their tears and healed their bodies. I have no idea who will be able to mend our broken hearts now that you are gone.  Heaven sounded the trumpets and GOD said WELL DONE MY FAITHFUL SERVANT. Rest well my pediatrician, neighbor and friend. You will truly be missed.

We are very sad to hear the news of Dr. Sims passing.  She took such great care of our three kids over the last 6 years and showed extraordinary compassion.  We will miss her.  Our thoughts and prayers are with her family. 

We were shocked and saddened when we heard about Dr. Sims passing as we were looking forward to her returning to the practice. When we started looking to find a pediatrician 5 years ago, Dr. Sims came highly recommend and when we met her we knew she was the pediatrician we wanted for our son. Over the past 5 years, we've appreciated Dr. Sims easy interaction with both of our sons and her concern for their welfare. She made it a fun experience every time we came to visit and our 5 year old adored her. She will be greatly missed and her family and friends are in our prayers during this difficult time.


Dr. Sims was my daughters pediatrician for over 9 years.  When I go today to make an appointment with her I was informed that she passed. I am deeply saddened because we lost a great doctor and an amazing individual. I will forever be grateful to her and Karen for their passion with children. May the Lord bring peace to her family during this difficult time. 

I came in last week, and was absolutely stunned and heartbroken to hear the news of Dr. Sims passing, as I had not opened the letter that was sent out. Dr. Sims has been each of my sons Dr. since their birth, for over 19 years. As I sat in the exam room waiting for my son to be seen that day, I swear I could hear Dr. Sims in the hall and just knew that this news was not true. She was truly a one of a kind person- full of kindness, compassion, and humor. Her smile would light up the room when she walked in. My heart goes out to all of her co-workers, friends, and family. 

I was heartbroken to hear about Dr. Sims passing. She has been our children’s pediatrician for years. She was always so patient with our daughter’s never ending questions.  My daughter loved her so much that she wants to grow up to be a doctor just like her.  When our son was born with some medical issues she was so comforting and supportive and reassured me that everything would be okay.  I will never forget her laughter and smiles. Prayers and good thoughts to her loved ones.  

Dr. Sims was my daughter's pediatrician for 17 years, until she went to college. She was also my son's pediatrician from birth, he is now 10 years old. Even when we moved to Baltimore County, we traveled to Odenton because I refused to change pediatricians. She was an awesome doctor and a great person. She took time to speak with my children each time that we visited her office. I am praying for her children and other family members during their time of loss. Please know that she was very much loved and highly respected.

I just heard that Dr Sims passed away and this is really heartbreaking. Dr sims has been my children's pediatrician for the past 9 years.  She was simply the best and she will be greatly missed. I pray the Lord comforts her family, loved ones and all those grieving her loss. A rare gem gone too soon. 

     My family and I were so heart broken to hear of  your passing by mail.  We are sending out prayers to your family, friends, co-workers and love ones.  I remembered my daughter Katherine was a little early and I had not chosen a Pediatrician yet;  one of the nurses said to me,  you can ask to have doctor  Georgette Sims, and ever since then, three years ago, I  had no problem with that selection.  She lit up the room when she walked in and my family just loved her. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Today I just received a letter from Johns Hopkins pediatrics notifying us of Dr. Sims passing. We are so deeply saddened to hear that she is gone. She was our son's pediatrition since he was 2 and he'll be 15 next month. She was also my daughter's pediatrition as well. I remember Dr. Sims would always chuckle and laugh at my son's antics. She always had a lovely smile and was so very kind. Please except our deepest sympathies in the passing of such a wonderful doctor. We had no idea.  

We just opened our letter about Dr Sim's death.  We saw her several times over the past 12 years, being in the same practice as our Dr.  I too was always impressed with her smile and sense of calm.  We truly are sad for your loss and pray God's peace and love engulfs you as you continue to miss her.

Dr Sims was the pediatrician for my daughters,  Alexandra Payton Turek and Stephanie Payton now 27 and 25.  She was so kind and sweet and patient. My daughter was so inspired by Dr Sims that she is now a pediatrician herself thanks in part to Dr Sims.  My daughters were so sad when they were too old to see her. My heart is broken for this beautiful doctor and woman. RIP Dr. Sims, we will never forget all you did for our family.

I’m so sad to just finding about this. She’s been my kids pediatrician for 15yrs and this news came to such a big blow, I’m terribly sad. Rest In Peace Dr. Sims, you were the best! 

I was deeply saddened by the death of Mrs. Sims. She was such a lovely lady.  Mrs. Sims was my son doctor for over 10 years.  We just loved her.  Her smile would brighten any room. I had to take my 3 year old to the JHU pediatrics today and checked the mail before driving there when I opened the letter,  I found out about her passing.  I was beyond shocked.  I knew that she was sick,  but I was not expecting to hear about her passing. Words are not enough to explain how supportive Dr.  Sims was to me as a first time mother that had to juggle the long commute to DC,  work,  family etc. Whenever I had concerns She would follow up via phone or send messages when I would send messages through mychart .  She always had a very calm demeanor when I would panic when the girls were sick.  I never shared my faith with her but when reading all the messages I realized that she and I connected because she was a believer.  I wish I knew and could have prayed for her...  Karen and Dr.  Sims were so caring, loving,  genuine and my family always felt the compassion and love when coming to their office.  I pray that her family receives the comfort that only God can give.  Dr.  Sims you will be missed. I pray that throughout your career you won many to the Lord through your love and kindness. Thank You  Dr. Sims for being the health angel in the lives of so many children in their tender years.   The excellent care you provided for my three children started in 1985.   When my first grandchild arrived in 2001 you welcomed him as your patient and continued to care for him and seven of his siblings until their move to Virginia a few years ago.   Rest in heavenly peace lovely lady. 

Words cannot even begin to describe how much Dr Sims ment to our family. Both my children have chronic illnesses and she always took much concerns seriously. She and Karen were a constant support during the roughest years of my kids lives.  She will always hold a special place in my heart.

Dr. Sims was the glue that held our family together. Before the Pasadena office closed, you were our kids Pediatrician. Your care for our daughter was unmatched and we were especially thankful for your help through the very critical teenage years, always providing excellent guidance and counseling on many of life’s issues. You touched my heart so deeply with the special place you had in your heart for our son Nicky with his special needs. I will always remember you calling him “handsome” and how you beamed your beautiful smile when he would giggle at your cold hands; how you loved receiving the DOTS, the M&M’s and the candy that Nicky couldn’t wait to give you at every visit and the hug you always had, especially for him. We thank you eternally for being the cornerstone of his care, balancing all of items and issues with his numerous other doctors and our endless requests. Nicky turns 21 in a few days and we were facing transition – our family is grieving and struggling with this immeasurable loss. I just found out today that Dr. Sims passed away.  I am overwhelmed with sadness that such a beautiful life and legacy is no longer with us. So glad I found you. You were the best doctor a mother could ask for. You would be amazed at my daughter's progress! This is a tough one and you will definitely be missed. I was heartbroken today to receive a letter from JHCP informing our family of Dr. Sims passing. She compassionately cared for our children for 20 years.  Her beautiful smile, calm demeanor and genuine kindness radiated her inner beauty. We pray sincerely for her children, family and coworkers. Just heard the news regarding, Dr. Sims and I am devastated. She was my 16-year-old daughter’s only pediatrician. Dr. Sims was thorough, firm, and the consummate professional.

Dr Sims was my daughters Pediatrician. She was outstanding with both the kids and adults. As a new mom I felt very overwhelmed and unsure, she always made me feel better and gave me great hope and advice on how to raise my baby girl. I will always remember her, she truly was an amazing person and Dr. 

It was my good fortune to take my grandchildren to her for regular check.  I love the way she interacted with my babies, and made them and me feel comfortable.  What a bed side manner!  Shocking to learn of her passing, but I have to remember that God makes no mistake.  Pray that her family and  friend will be strengthened  knowing that she was highly respected.

Dr. Sims was an amazing doctor and person, and we were so saddened this morning to learn of her passing. She and Karen were an amazing team, and the people we trusted to care for our children for the past 13 years. Our hearts go out to her family and coworkers-we know the loss felt in our home, so we can only imagine what they are feeling. We were blessed to know her and be under her care. May she rest in peace.

Dearest Georgette.  I will truly miss serving with you every second Sunday.  I will miss the exciting updates on your daughter, son and the family excursions.  I remember how “over-the-moon” you were about the birthday surprise from your daughter and son.  Your love for your late husband, son, daughter and sisters was so obvious.
May God continue to comfort, strengthen and give your family God’s peace that surpasses all understanding and the joy that He said would come in the morning.  (❤️).

Dr. Sims was a wonderful doctor to my two daughters over the past eight years. What a tremendous loss and she will surely be missed.

Dr. Sims will be greatly missed by our family.  My heart breaks for her family's loss.  She was a wonderful physician and always warm and caring and never rushed me or my boys.  When we first moved here 10 years ago I had randomly chosen a PCP for my oldest. By chance, my youngest saw Dr. Sims as an infant for something minor and she was so sweet and supportive that as soon as she had an opening for new patients we changed over to her.  I was heartbroken today when we went in for my boys' well-child visits and I asked how she was doing.  May she rest in peace knowing that she touched the lives of so many families.

Dr. Sims was our daughters pediatrician since they were born, 14 years! She was an amazing doctor, compassionate and just a kind person overall.  She is going to be missed by so many.  I’m sure she’s touched so many lives the way she did ours.  My heart breaks but I know she is with our Lord now.  Sending prayers and may she Rest In Peace.  Love you Dr. Sims!

We are so sad and sorry to hear about this. Dr. Sims was my children's pediatrician for over seven years. She was the most caring and wonderful person we could have hoped to have treat our children. She literally saved the life of my youngest child more than once with her dedication and expertise. We were blessed to have known her. We are praying for comfort and love for her family.

As a greeter I enjoyed serving with Georgette, who had a very kind spirit.  May The Lord continue to care and comfort her family and keep them in His special care.  


It was heartbreaking to learn that Georgette had been ill and passed away. She was an extraordinarily warm, kind and caring person and had such a wonderful smile. When we last spoke she was so happy her children were doing well and out in the world and she was so looking forward to spending more time with them - she was so proud of them. Dr.Sims and I worked side by side for 13 years. We were the Dynamic Duo as she would call it. Throughout those years she offered many kind words, encouragement, support and displayed a heart of gold all the time. Her strength was amazing. Heaven has gained an angel, a true gem. What I remember most about Georgette is her smile and beautiful spirit.  I'll miss her smile from behind the Greeters' Desk as I enter the Temple.  Prayers of comfort are extended to her family.

Dr. Sims was not only my children's pediatrician she was just an awesome person all the way around. When I needed a doctor to volunteer to come speak to the teen girls Ministry at my church she was gracious enough to accept the offer and we appreciated her support!  She will be missed. We've known each other for thirty years ; lost our husbands two months apart . We  shared widowhood , friendship , laughter and tears . I will miss what we could have shared in retirement dear friend - and I will see you in heaven .

OH no - my dear, dear colleague and buddy . WE are the same age , have practiced together forever and lost our husbands just 2 months apart from each other . My heart is with her lovely children . She was the epitome of kindness and light everywhere she went and an outstanding pediatrician .

I only worked with Dr. Sims a handful of times, but in those moments, it was clear to me what a kind and compassionate person she was. Your patients were lucky to have you as their pediatrician and I am thankful to have know you.

An amazing women,mother, doctor, and friend. In my eyes she will be remembered as the one who kept on smiling, and will be missed deeply.

We were coworkers together. We supported each other. We confided in each other. I will miss my lovely Georgette whose kindness and dedication to her family, friends and patients was absolutely extraordinary. My sincerest condolences to her family.

Georgette epitomized the practice of pediatric medicine. The children and families she cared for thrived because of her outstanding care and advocacy. Her influence on students, fellow pediatric clinicians, patients, office staff, and community will be everlasting.

You were always an inspiration not only as a fellow co-worker but also as a strong woman, mother and leader. You will be truly missed! God bless you and continue watching over my family and I from heaven!
