Cynthia Rae Marcum

Sindi, as she was known, graduated with a masters degree from James Madison University and was retired after a long career as a speech language pathologist. She is predeceased by her father, Raymond H Micallef, MUC U.S. Navy and mother Norene Micallef.

She is survived by her cherished and loving daughters Alexandra C. Abell and Jillian R. Brierley, (husband, Garrett E. Brierley), and her much-loved and adored grandsons Brodie S. Abell and Cole E. Brierley. She is also survived by her sister Karen I. O’Sullivan and brother, Raymond C. Micallef.

Sindi was an avid bicyclist, hiker and traveler who had a passion for music and concerts, the outdoors, especially the beach. She had a lifelong love of learning and was excellent in trivia team games and enjoyed watching Jeopardy. She was loyal and devoted to numerous friends and extended family and will be sorely missed by all and never forgotten.

A celebration of life will be held January 4, 2023 from 12:00pm to 3:00 pm at Yellow Fin Steakhouse, 2849 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, consider donating to The Boston University Amyloidosis Research Fund.
