With deepest sorrow, we announce that Christopher Lawrence Jones, age 44, our most beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, and friend died unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 5, 2020. Those who knew Chris, even just a little, lost a shinning light in their lives.
Chris was born July 23, 1975 in Washington, DC. He grew up in Maryland and then spent many years in Florida before returning to Maryland. Chris attended South River High School and later earned an Associate Degree for Computer Aided Drawing from the Florida Institute of Technology. Chris enjoyed many professions as an animal rescuer, a motorcycle mechanic, a plumber, as well as a medical and retail sales representative.
Chris had a special way with animals and animals loved him for it. Whenever Chris walked in a room, animals, cats in particular, would flock to him and he always knew what they wanted. Chris enjoyed attending music festivals, concerts, playing video games, reading books, and listening to a variety of music. One of Chris’s favorite past times was to engage in philosophical discussions about life, religion and politics.
Chris will be missed everyday by his father and stepmother, Lawrence and Audrey Jones; mother, Patricia Bosse; sister, Jennifer Jones; step-brothers, Paul and Kevin Cox; nephew, Ryan Jones and his wife Christi; and loving Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents, Cousins and an extended network of friends and family.
Chris is loved here on Earth as well as in Heaven. Chris is now with his Meme, Nettie Ballard; Nana, Patricia Harding; Stepfather, David Bosse; Uncle, John Marshall; Uncle, Roy Lee and David Hillegas.
Chris cared about people in the purest way. He loved them for who they were without expecting anything in return. What you saw was what you got with Chris and what you saw, if you were lucky enough to know him, was a truly charismatic, loyal, generous, easy-going, and fun-loving human being.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm at the Bowie Elks Lodge, 1506 Defense Hwy, Gambrills, MD 21054.
In lieu of flowers, and to honor Chris’s memory, contributions can be made to the Rude Ranch Animal Rescue Center, a no-kill organization dedicated to saving four paws at a time. Donations can be made online at www.ruderanch.org or mailed to 3200 Ivy Way, Harwood, MD 20776.
