Brian Alan Shanks

January 18, 1966- June 2, 2023

Brian Alan Shanks passed away on June 7, 2023, at the age of 57. He was born on January 18, 1966, to Larry and Barbara Shanks. He grew up in Bowie, Maryland with his parents and brother Larry Shanks. He graduated from Bowie High School in 1984.

After high school Brian was an electrician for a short time and then began working for UPS. While working for UPS Brian delivered many packages around Anne Arundel County and often shared his knowledge of the roads when navigating around the county with family. In 2009, after working as an electrician and for UPS Brian completed the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections Academy and began work as a Private and eventually switched to Supply Technician. Brian spoke often of his time as a supply technician and his coworkers.

Brian was a devoted husband to Belinda Sue Shanks and father to Jacob. He was a devoted father and father-in-law to Christopher and Caitlin Piper also. Brian loved his granddaughters Paxton and Michaela and often spent weekends doing “funtivities” (fun + activities) with them. Brian enjoyed spending time with close friends, often having dinner with them.

Those who are grateful for having shared in Brian’s life are his brother, Larry Shanks, his son, Christopher (Caitlin) Piper (and daughters Paxton and Michaela), and numerous cousins, friends, and coworkers.

Brian is preceded in death by his wife Belinda Sue Shanks and parents Larry and Barbara Shanks.
