Born on September 27th, 1980, at Brockton Hospital, the beloved son of Tom Spillane of Port Orange, FL and Tina DiGiano of Mashpee, MA.
Tommy, as he was affectionately referred to, graduated from Plymouth South High School in 1999. At an early age, Tommy was a mischievous and consummate joker, always keeping his family and friends on their toes. During high school, Tommy was a manager at Rock Bottom Seafood in Cedarville. Soon after graduation, Tommy followed his father's footsteps by becoming a police officer. Making such an impression with the department as a summer cop, the Bourne Police Department kept him on, and he became one of the best 911 dispatchers they have had.
A unique individual with a huge presence, Tommy dedicated his life to helping others on and off duty. Tommy was born to become a Police Officer and changed the town of Bourne with his charisma, humor, and loyalty.
In addition to his parents, Tommy leaves behind his sister Sara and her boyfriend Charles “Boomer” DeAlessio of Astoria, NY, sister Amy (Spillane) Roussel and her husband Ken Roussel of Carver, MA, and sister Jordan Raymond of Bourne, MA. He also leaves behind stepmother Kathy Spillane, his girlfriend Nerea Calve-O’Neil, his two nephews, Tyler and Jonathan, his stepsister Angela Williams, his best friend Mickey the Labrador, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will hold a Memorial at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home (Bourne) on December 3rd between 2pm and 4pm with services from 4pm-4:30pm. Directly after, at 5:00pm, they have planned a celebration of Tommy’s short, but full life at the Mezza Luna Restaurant (also in Bourne). The family would be honored for all who knew Tommy to join them and share stories of their time with him.
For those who have inquired, in lieu of flowers or gifts, Tommy would have wanted donations to be made to “K9s for Warriors,” a non-profit organization that rescues and trains shelter dogs for veterans experiencing service-connected trauma. Here is how you can donate: www.k9sforwarriors.org/financial-donation or send your gift to K9s for Warriors, 114 Camp K9 Road, Ponte Vedra, FL, 32081
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.nickersonbourne.com for the Spillane family.
