A MESSAGE FROM THE FAMILY
When I am gone, release me, let me go. You musn’t tie yourself to me with tears. Just be happy that we had so many years. I gave you my love, you can only guess, How much you gave to me in happiness. I thank you for the love you each have shown, But now it’s time I traveled alone. So grieve a while for me, if grieve you must, Then let your grief be comforted by trust. It’s only for a while that we must part, So bless the memories within your heart. I won’t be far away, for life goes on, So if you need me, call, and I will come. Though you can’t see or touch me, I’ll be near. And if you listen with your heart, you’ll hear All of my love around you, soft and clear. And then, when you must come this way alone, I’ll greet you with a smile, and say “Welcome Home.”

Thomas "Tommy" Francis Duffy III

Thomas Francis Duffy III, 76, currently of Pittsfield MA, and formerly of Medford, MA and Eastham, MA, passed away on Veteran’s Day, November 11th, 2023. Thomas was the firstborn son of Mary Mildred (Furey) Duffy and Thomas Francis Duffy, Jr., in Medford, MA.

Tommy enlisted in the Navy during the Vietnam War, on November 23, 1965 at the age of 18. He later volunteered for over 20 years at the Brockton Veterans Medical Center mailroom, where he was a valued team member.

Tommy is survived by three siblings; Mary Jo (Duffy) Elliott and her husband Dan, William J. Duffy and his wife Deborah, and Patricia Duffy-Brown and her husband Michael. Tommy is also survived by nieces and nephews, Daniel Elliott, Sarah Elliott, Patrick Elliott, William Duffy Jr., Joseph Duffy, Amy Brown, Katie Brown, Rebecca Carter and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Tommy enjoyed his family and the simple things in life. He will always be loved and remembered for his kind and loving spirit.
