Ruth Altrich

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ruth Altrich who left this world on March 31, 2025 at the age of 76. Born on June 10, 1948, to Bernadine and Chester Sellers of Watertown, MA, Ruth was a devoted daughter, a loving sister to Jane Giordano and her husband John Giordano of Watham, MA, and a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

For 54 beautiful years, she shared a deep and unwavering love with her husband, Larry Altrich of Plymouth, MA. Together they built a family that was Ruth’s greatest joy. She was the beloved mother to Jennifer Chambers and her husband Wayne of Plymouth, MA, Rebecca Altrich of Plymouth, MA, David Altrich and his wife Tracy Altrich of West Bridgewater, MA, and Matthew Altrich and his wife Michelle of Kansas.

Ruth was a proud and adoring grandmother to nine grandchildren.

A graduate of Waltham High School, Ruth was a caregiver at heart, dedicating much of her life to championing and caring for the elderly. She had an artist’s soul, finding beauty in painting, cooking, reading, and the simple joys of nature. She loved camping, the ocean, watching the birds, and spending time outdoors, embracing the world’s wonders with a sense of awe and appreciation.

Above all, Ruth’s family was her world. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and warmth that will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

A private celebration of Ruth’s life will be held for family members. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
