Roland Gilbert Bourgeois died January 12, 2020 at the age of 77. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Mary Bourgeois. He is survived by his high school sweetheart, best friend and partner in life Linda Lucier of Wellington, Florida and his two sisters, Karen Macedo and Mimi Bourgeois, both of Taunton, Massachusetts. He is also survived by his three sons, Christopher, Matthew and Justin. Roland was blessed with seven grandchildren, Christopher, Abby and Adam of Cordova, Alaska, Elias and Maddox of Naperville, Illinois, and Michael and Justin of Harwich, Massachusetts. Roland was born in Taunton on March 3, 1942. He served in the United States Coast Guard from 1960 to 1964 and sailed the waters from Newfoundland to Argentina. After his service, Roland moved to Cape Cod and started a career in the restaurant industry. Roland worked many years at the Riverway Lobster House in South Yarmouth. He loved his job there and made many lifelong friends; always known for his enthusiasm greeting people and his keen sense of humor. Roland retired to Wellington with Linda and spent his golden years enjoying the warm weather, hosting and accommodating visitors and listening to Jimmy Buffet. Roland always expressed great pride in his three sons; he loved them dearly and was always there for them and instilled his strong work ethic in them. One of his greatest joys was simply spending time with them. Funeral Services will be held on March 9th at 10:00 AM at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Boulevard, Bourne, followed by a burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
