Robert I. Spates

Bob grew up in Onset, Point Independence, of the Town of Wareham, MA, and went to Wareham High School. Bob was a Carpenter/Builder for 40 years, working on numerous commercial projects; to name ONLY a few; W.H.O.I. facilities, Mass Maritime Academy, numerous schools on Cape Cod to name a few. After retiring, Bob volunteered at the W.H.O.I. Museum Boat Shop for many years, enjoying his time repairing, rebuilding and building new boats with numerous same interest comrades.

Bob is survived by his son William Spates and his wife Sherri of KY, and his daughter-in-law Jan Spates of FL. His grandchildren; Amanda L. Spates, Ariauna C. Brooks-Rivia, Lucile M. Spates, Nico L. Spates, Cheyenne N. Spates, and Luke W. Spates. His great grandchildren Robert, Stephanie, Tia, and Genesis. His nephew Gary Spates and his wife Cindy. He is preceded in passing by wife Marilyn to whom shared 41 years in marriage, as well as his son Mark R. Spates, and brothers; Albert, and Herbert.

Burial will be held on Saturday November 18th, 11am at Agawam cemetery in Wareham, Ma.
