QUINN, Robert G. 93, of Buzzards Bay, MA passed away on November 22, 2024 at Tobey Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born to the late John and Dorothy Quinn (Taylor) in Somerville, MA in 1930.
Bob graduated from Brighton High School, and then joined the United States Coast Guard, during the Korean War. He went on to marry the love of his life Mary Rose Quinn (Aceto) to whom shared 68 years of marriage before she passed in 2022. He was an electrician and moved from Saugus to Sandwich, Massachusetts in 1972 to work at the Cape Cod Canal Power Plant until his retirement. Bob and Marie truly enjoyed their retirement years traveling the country with their trailer and spent 10 years wintering in Bradenton, FL and lived the rest of the year at their family home in Sandwich, MA. Robert was very proud of being part of the Clark-Haddad Post 188 (American Legion) in Sandwich, MA for over 50 years, and he was a past Commander. Bob also enjoyed golf and Marie actually learned in retirement so they could both enjoy one of his favorite sports. They also enjoyed dancing and had taken ballroom dance classes while in Florida.
He is survived by his children: Robert G. Quinn, Jr. and his wife Alison of Sandwich, MA, Daughters: Jody Quinn, and Doreen Tompkins of Plymouth, MA. Grandchildren: Katie, Becky, Kristin, Shawn, KellyAnn, Shannon. His 13 great grandchildren, and his brother Charles Quinn of Newton, MA.
Visiting Hours will be held Sunday December 1st from 4-7pm at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd. Bourne, MA. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday December 2nd at 9:45am in the funeral home, burial will follow at Massachusetts National Cemetery with full military honors.
