Paul was born in Boston, MA on April 26, 1972, a loving son of the late Charles and Dona (Doyle) Kerins.
Paul grew up with a close-knit family in Pocasset, MA on Cape Cod, where he spent most of his life. He graduated from Rhode Island College and had a long, successful career in the mortgage industry.
Paul was passionate, driven, brilliant, and creative. He had a powerful sense of honor and a deep love for family and friends. The center of Paul’s world was his family. Paul found his life-long love, rock, and soul mate in June. Their love was destined to be since they were kids— cemented by a “Vatentine” card in third grade. Paul was a role model for, best friend to, and the biggest champion of his three children. Ethan, Sean, and Matthew loved their dad beyond measure.
Paul was also a friend of Bill and a mentor in the recovery community. He was loved and respected and truly made a difference in so many lives. Paul had an insatiable love of music, among his favorites were Elvis Presley, the Beatles, the Doors, and anything Motown—especially Diana Ross. He loved singing karaoke and belting out his favorite tunes. Paul’s affinity for these artists stemmed from his childhood and is shared with his siblings.
Paul was also a film buff, incessantly quoting lines from his favorite movies: Rocky, The Blues Brothers, The Godfather and other Brando flicks, Star Wars, and anything Charlie Chaplin. He has passed the love
of these films on to his children.
Paul will be forever remembered for his quick wit, infectious smile, and kind and compassionate spirit, and he will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
In addition to his partner, Paul is survived by his adoring sons Ethan Kerins, Sean Kerins, and Matthew Kerins, and their mother and Paul’s longtime friend, Carrie (Raines) Kerins. He was a father-figure to June’s children Destinee and Steven Roderick. He was the dear brother of Leslie Kerins, Craig Parsons-Kerins and his wife Judy, Brian Kerins and his wife Bethany, Michael Kerins, and Kimberly Kerins. He was predeceased by his siblings Charles (Charlie) Kerins, Dianne (Kerins) Whitman, and Abby
Willowroot. He was the uncle of Tom Perkins, Sam Perkins, Jennifer Sunnerberg and Alex, and Lily Evans. He was the loving nephew of the late Michael Doyle and Evelyn Emery.
Visitation will be private. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a funeral service on Tuesday, August 10 at 11:00 A.M. at Swift Memorial Methodist Church, 10 Williston Road in Sagamore Beach, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
