She was a graduate of Bourne High School and a student at UMass, studying to become a probation officer. Despite her illness, Nikki, as she was known to most, lived her life every day to the fullest. She became an advocate for herself, learning to fight for her rights within the medical system and helping others with resources and knowledge. She helped whenever she could. That’s who Nicole was. She would make friends wherever she went. Her smile was contagious and when she walked into a room all eyes were on her. She was passionate about her family and friends. If you were in Nicole’s “village,” it was for life. She enjoyed going to concerts, broadway shows, and spending time with her family and friends. Halloween was her favorite holiday. Fashion was her passion. She was always dressed like a diva from head to toe with matching jewelry and purse. Nicole lived hard and loved even harder. She was a warrior who never gave in to her disease. She was a hero to all that had the pleasure of knowing her.
Nikki is survived by her mother and best friend Heather Alden, sisters Madison Ann Cryan, Alisa Goodman and Jo-Anne Goodman, brother Ethan Cryan, maternal grandparents Ann and Ernest Alden; Dawn (Alden) Underhill, Matt Underhill and their daughters Arissa and Deianeira of Rochester, MA; Ernest E. Alden, Dawn Irene Alden and their children Connor and Emmaline of West Wareham, MA; Pamela (Alden) Riley; Michael Riley and their daughters Jordyn and Jamie of Attleboro, MA; Elizabeth and Jude Wilbur of Hatchville, MA; Stephen Cryan of Pocasset, MA and Linwood L. Perry of Cataumet. She is predeceased by her dog, Newton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at St. John the Evangelist Church 841 Shore Road Pocasset, MA. Interment at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Wareham. Visiting hours 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at the Nickerson- Bourne Funeral Home 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne, MA.
