She was born Nancy Peckham on August 25, 1922, in Holliston, the daughter of Robert B. and Marion (Andrews) Peckham.
Nancy graduated from Holliston High School and went on to obtain a Registered Nursing degree from the Newton-Wellesley Hospital, School of Nursing. Her life reflected a woman of great compassion. She was active, beginning as a young girl in the Congregational Church, and as an RN she was part of the Framingham Nurse’s Health Study, and during WWII, she served as a nurse at Walter Reed Hospital.
She loved going to the beach along with other activities like playing cards, of which Bridge was her favorite. Nancy also enjoyed to garden and paint. Monument Beach has been ideal spot for Nancy the last 60 years.
Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband John Clifford Morris in April of 2013. Her son Robert David, and siblings Helen Morse and Jean Clark.
Left to cherish her memory are her children John Andrews Morris of Yarmouthport, and Brenda Stewart and her husband James of Marshfield. Five grandchildren Danika Bloomfield and her husband Ken, Taylor Larsen and her Husband Eric, Jordan Morris, Erin Stewart Chen and her husband Albert, and Julie Stewart and her partner Steve Monroe. Six great-grandchildren Amy Bloomfield, Nicholas Bloomfield, Olivia Larsen, Emilie Larsen, Curie Chen, and Elia Chen.
Nancy added a second career as a Tupperware Salesperson, which she loved for 20 years, and retired from offering parties at age 80. Her granddaughters called her a “Party Girl”! We will all miss her so much!
Cremation was chosen. A service will be announced in April 2015
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Nancy’s name to the Cape Cod Standard Times Needy Fund, or to the Bourne Council on Aging.
