Marie Oliva

Marie R. (Cristofori) Oliva, of Buzzards Bay, MA passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2018. She was the wife of the late Joseph Frank Oliva, the couple was married for 66 years. She was the youngest daughter of the late Augusto and Pia (Morisci) Cristofori.

A graduate of Bourne High School Class of 1945. She had worked part-time at several hair salons in Bourne from 1950 through 1970.

She is survived by her children, Joan Oliva and Marc Oliva; 3 grandchildren, Chris Oliva and his wife Meaghan, Heather Erskine and her husband Justin and Bryce Oliva; 3 great-grandchildren, Joey, Matty and Brody. She was predeceased by her sisters Hilda, Ellena, Anna, Iola, Theresa and Hope and her brothers Columbus "Buster", Guy, Richard "Dick" and August "Auggie".

Mrs. Oliva was an avid reader, she loved to sew and knit and enjoyed making hats, mittens and afghans. She also loved puzzle books, skiing and trips to Foxwoods to play bingo.

Her calling hours will be held 2 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne. Interment at the Massachusetts National Cemetery at later date. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Transplant Services 200 Lothrop Street Pittsburgh, PA 15213-2582
