She was born on July 23, 1916 in Leominster, MA. Marguerite attended St. Cecelia’s School. She was employed by Cluette & Peabody, where she met and later married in 1941, Charles “Beanie” Morse.
She was devoted to her family and had a wonderful sense of humor and deep compassion for others. Margaret passed many hours enjoying her hobbies, which included knitting, crocheting, reading, gardening and baking goodies for her family.
Margaret was devoted to her faith and was a long time member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Pocasset, MA. She was the proud recipient of the Marion Medal in 1998 and a familiar figure at the weekly bingo for many years. At the age of 96 she proudly became a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and was a long time member of La Sociétédes Filles du roi et Soldats du Carignan (King’s Daughters).
She will be dearly missed by her children, Raymond C. Morse of Leominster, Jane M. Coté of CA, Charles B. Morse II of AZ, Susan M. Morse of Pocasset and Judith A. Gonsalves of CA, sons-in law, Bill Coté and Manuel Gonsalves, her 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, her sister Madeleine Levesque Kraus of CA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church. Margaret will be laid to rest beside her Beanie at the Massachusetts National Cemetery. Visitation morning of funeral 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne, MA. In lieu of flowers donations made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a charity near and dear to her heart.
