She was born Lois Lyle Wisutskie on April 18, 1931 in Boston, the daughter of John and Madeline (Witham) Wisutskie. She grew up in Gloucester, attended Gloucester High School and graduated with honors in 1949. She went on to secretarial school at Katherine Gibbs in Boston.
On July 13, 1952 Lois was united in marriage to James Reginald Young at St. Ann’s Church in Gloucester. To this union three children were born; David, Tracey and Cheryl.
Lois enjoyed playing bridge, traveling to Florida and was an avid beachgoer. She was an award winning flower arranger and enjoyed being a hospital volunteer. Her pride and joy was being with her loving family.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children Tracey Farley and her husband Edward of Gloucester, David Young and his wife Suzanne of Dunstable, five grandchildren Chrystie Edwards and her husband Zac, Cortney Cummings and her husband Dan, Alexandra Carr and her husband Jeremy, Connor Young and Andrew Young. Lois is also survived by her great-grandchildren Henry Cummings, Grace Cummings and Graham Edwards. Her fourth great-grandchild Morgan Carr is due to be born in a few weeks on August 25th.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11:30AM, Friday, July 31, at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home in Bourne. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery.
