Linda Long Smith

Linda Long Smith (née Terrio) died peacefully at home surrounded by family on July 5, 2016 in Falmouth, Mass at the age of 75. Linda is survived by her husband, Jim Smith, her daughters Susan Hart Koenig of Wenham Mass and Karen Hart Peirson of Carbondale Colorado. She also leaves her sister Debbie

Brunell of Falmouth and brother Steve Terrio of Maryland. She has 6 adored grandchildren:Nicholas Koenig, Benjamin Koenig, Julia Koenig, Christina Koenig, Nicole Peirson and Nolan Peirson. She was also a loving step grandmother to Parker and Tucker Smith of Peabody, MA.

Linda was born in Lexington to Deb and Bud Terrio. She graduated from Lexington High School in 1958, and Framingham State in 1962 with a degree in education. Linda married Thomas Hart, with whom she had her 2 daughters. She then had a wonderful 20 year marriage to Donald

Long, until his death in 1997. She then married her devoted husband Jim Smith in 2000.

Linda worked as a teacher in the Sandwich School system for many years, until she retired to open and run the Village Green Inn in Falmouth. Since selling the Inn in 1996 she has enjoyed her retirement by spending many winters in Florida and enjoying family, friends and her many grandchildren. Linda was also very involved with her church, Osterville Baptist Church, which she and Jim were devout members of for the past 15 years. Linda was active in volunteering and had many wonderful friends she met through various groups there.

A Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Osterville Baptist Church, with light luncheon reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Linda’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Deacons fund at Osterville Baptist Church, or Hope Hospice of Cape Cod. Please leave condolence messages via Nickerson Bourne website. The family would like to thank the wonderful care Linda received from our very dear friend Audrey Tobin, as well as Dr. Avilles and the amazing staff of Hope Hospice of Cape Cod.
