Born and raised in Brockton, Larry graduated from Xavarian Brothers High School in Westwood. He joined the Brockton Fire Department as an alarm operator in 1978 and held that position until his retirement in 2008.
He was a longtime resident of Brockton and a communicant of Our Lady of Ostrobrama, St. Margaret's, and St. Edith Stein. He and his wife recently relocated to Bourne.
Throughout his life Larry enjoyed the beaches of Cape Cod and Florida, traveling, and doing crossword puzzles. From childhood Larry was an enthusiastic fan of the Montreal Canadians and made countless trips to Canada to watch them play. The arrival of his grandson, Truman Lawrence, now six months old, brought great joy to his life.
In addition to his wife Elizabeth of 41 years, he is survived by his son Christopher and daughter-in-law Laura of Scituate; two sisters Gail Bisio and her husband John of Raynham and Nancy Fogg and her husband David of Brockton. He also leaves behind his mother-in-law Delores McNamee, five sisters-in-law: Delores, Kathleen, Margaret, Anne Marie, and Josephine, and brothers-in-law Henry and Lee. He was also the uncle of many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visiting hours will be held at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd., in Bourne on Thursday, December 11th from 4pm-8pm. The funeral Mass will be held at Saint John the Evangelist Church in Pocasset on Friday, December 12th at 11am.
