It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Kevin O’Leary, 73, on February 3, 2023, after his battle with cancer. Kevin was born in Boston to the late William and Toni O’Leary and was predeceased by his older brothers, William and Robert. Kevin was a big personality, a loving husband, father and grandfather, who will always be remembered by his great tan, mustache and nickname “KO.”
Kevin spent his youth in Boston, and attended high school in New Hampshire. Soon after, he started his career working for New England Telephone which then turned to Verizon. Kevin’s career with the phone industry spanned 33 years of his life and during the early part is when he met the love of his life, Lindsey.
All who know Kevin would agree that family was the biggest accomplishment of his life. Kevin and Lindsey resided in Sagamore Beach, where they raised their two daughters, Ashley and Whitney. Kevin’s daughters were the light of his life. The strong love Kevin had for his family was felt by all who knew him. This love grew tenfold when his daughters blessed him with 8 beautiful grandchildren.
Travel was Kevin’s second love and many times done with family and friends. Kevin and Lindsey spent many years traveling to Aruba, Florida, and their “happy place” St. Maarten. Kevin also liked to travel to his backyard paradise, often surrounded by his family and friends, and his beloved dog, Tuffy. Kevin’s love for living life to the fullest will forever be missed and admired by all who knew him.
Kevin is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Lindsey, his daughter, Ashley Dennen and husband Mark, and his daughter, Whitney McCabe and husband Joe. “Papa” leaves behind his eight beautiful grandchildren; Ainsley, Carly, Taylor, Tyler, Logan, Kelsey, Harper and baby Dennen who will arrive this April. He was predeceased by his first born son, Kevin Patrick, and his son-in-law, Ryan Kent.
Please join us celebrating Kevin’s life on February 28th at the 10 am mass at St.John’s Parish in Pocasset. A private burial will will held at the Cataumet Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Ryan Kent Scholarship Fund c/o Citizens Bank, PO Box 1779, Sandwich, MA 02563 or donations to the Pan Mass Challenge (Donate.PMC.org to Whitney Kent-McCabe). Whitney and her husband, Joe, will be riding the PMC in Kevin’s memory.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.nickersonbourne.com for the O'Leary family.
