Born in Boston, Joseph grew up locally and graduated from local schools. Upon graduation, he heard the call of duty to join the Marine Corps. He worked for the MBTA for many years, during which he met Victoriana Martel and the two were engaged, working to raise their son Joseph, or “Joey,” their pride and joy.
Joseph was a kind, caring man who enjoyed the simplicity in life. He enjoyed exercise, watching dog and horse racing. Most of all he enjoyed spending time together with his son Joseph.
Joseph is survived by his fiancée of 26 years, Victoriana Martel of Brookline, father to Joseph M. Steele of New Bedford, as well as 1 brother and 2 sisters.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 4, at 10:00am in the Nickerson Bourne Funeral Home located at 40 MacArthur Boulevard in Bourne.
Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Avenue, in Bourne.
