Jo-Ann Fullerton Jensen was born on March 2, 1942 to the late Warren E. Fullerton II and the late Mabel (Milan) Fullerton. She was called to her eternal rest on March 6, 2025. She was the loving wife of Richard E. Jensen for 64 years.
Jo-Ann was mother to Jane Jensen of Pennsylvania, Jeffrey Jensen of New Hampshire, and Jonathan Jensen of Buzzards Bay. She was grandmother to Chris Slivinski of Pennsylvania, Jacob Slivinski of Delaware, Luke Jensen and Megan Fultz of New Hampshire, and Emily Jensen of Massachusetts. She was great-grandmother to Colin and Nicholas Slivinski of Pennsylvania, and Atlas and Aimee Cook of Massachusetts.
Jo-Ann was the eldest of eleven children and grew up in Whitman, MA. Her siblings are Marcia Scribner of Hanover, Jere Fullerton of Sandwich, Suzanne Hopp of Pennsylvania, Stephen Fullerton of Falmouth, Peter Fullerton of Kansas, David Fullerton of Middleboro, and Michael Fullerton of Weymouth. She was predeceased by John W. Fullerton of Georgia, Warren Fullerton of Maine, and Nan Costa of Mississippi.
She graduated from Christian High School in Cambridge in 1959 and attended Eastern Nazarene College until her marriage in 1961. She worked at Edmund's Restaurant for 38 years where she met her husband. She also worked for 24 of those years at Yangtze China Inn. She worked at the Heritage House Bookstore, a family owned business, all at the same time. After moving to Buzzards Bay, JoAnn worked at the Rosemary Inn in Wareham.
Jo-Ann was very devoted to her husband and family. She was proud of her Irish and Swedish heritage and loved to travel, visiting 11 countries with her husband, the last being Ireland in 2015. She played the piano, loved music, entertaining, decorating, and sitting by the pool. She was also an avid Boston sports fan and got her love of sports from her mother and her brothers.
In later years she owned and operated Salt Winds Bed and Breakfast, which was a life's dream. She was also a caregiver for many years and had a special ministry for the elderly. After her husband's retirement, Richard and Jo-Ann were co-owners of The Old House Antique Shop.
Her greatest desire in life was to see her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her siblings come to know the Lord in a personal way.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday March 13th from 4-7pm at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd. Bourne, MA. A Funeral Service will take place at 11am on Friday March 14th at the Bourne Methodist church, 37 Sandwich Rd, Bourne, MA . Burial will be private.
