James R. Rice

Born in Framingham, MA raised in Ashland and Harwich, he was a graduate of Stonehill College and earned an MBA from Suffolk University. Jim had a very successful career in the banking industry (30 plus years). He worked for several banks including Medford Savings, Compass, Harbor One and BayCoast Bank. He was a Board member of the YMCA Southcoast as well UMASS Dartmouth Center of Marketing Research. Jim was also Past President of the New England Financial Marketing Association.

Jim loved travel, beaches and his dog Taylor. To family, friends and colleagues Jim was the epitome of kindness generosity and compassion. He will truly be missed.

Jim was son of the late Phyllis V. (Murphy) Rice and the late William E. Rice Sr. of Ashland, MA. He is pre-deceased by brothers Thomas J. Rice and Richard J. Rice.

Jim is survived by brother William E. Rice Jr and his wife Maureen of MA, sister Donna (Rice) O’Brien and her husband Timothy of NJ, nephews Alden Rice of MA, Nathan Rice and his wife Stephanie of MA, Sean O’Brien of NJ and Brenden O’Brien and his wife Kristen of California.

Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic, Jim requested there be no service.
