Elizabeth Jane Kelley

Elizabeth J. (Betty) Kelley (BFD) of Bourne, MA, formerly of Brockton passed away on September 9, 2021 at the age of 68 after a long battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence M. Kelley (BFD), loving mother of Christopher Kelley and his wife Laura, and proud grandmother of Truman L. Kelley of Duxbury.

As the first female member of the Brockton Fire Department, Betty dedicated years of service from 1984-2005. She worked tirelessly for the safety and security of all its residents.

Prior to joining the department, Betty was a lab technician at the former Cardinal Cushing Hospital in Brockton. For many years Betty was an active member of the Brockton Garden Club and also spent many enjoyable times with her sewing friends.

Betty is survived by her mother Dolores McNamee of Westport and siblings Dolores Ostrega of Ossipee, NH, Katie Leary of Tampa, FL, Margaret Querze of Bedford, Anne Marie Gallone of Westport, Josephine Spagna of Westport, And Henry Clark of Nashua, NH. She also leaves behind many dear cousins, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law Gail Bisio and Nancy Fogg, and longtime friends.

Betty was predeceased by her father, Henry F. McNamee of Weymouth.

All are welcome to memorial calling hours Tuesday September 14, 2021 from 5 to 8 pm at Nickerson Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd S, Buzzards Bay, MA. A funeral mass will take place at St. John the Evangelist Church, 841 Shore Rd Pocasset, MA on Wednesday September 15, 2021 at 10 am.
