Donna Winifred Phyllis Robbins

ROBBINS, Donna Winifred Phyllis (Russell) 81, of Plymouth, MA passed away on September 15, 2024 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth. She was born in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada to the late Donald Burton and Hildegarde Florence Russell (Holm) on October 9, 1942.

Donna grew up in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada and graduated from Moncton high school. She completed her Occupational Therapy degree in Kingston Ontario, Canada on a Bursary from Moncton Hospital, where she worked for a year. After she married, she moved to the United States and lived in Abington, MA. This is where she raised her only child Wendy.

Donna worked multiple jobs so she could put herself through nursing school and graduated in 1982 from Massasoit Community College. While going to college and raising her family Donna studied and became a United States Citizen on May 18, 1998.

She loved taking care of people and being a nurse. She started working for Pembroke Psychiatric Hospital where she found her true passion working with adolescence. She also worked for the Cape Cod Hospital in the same field.

When she became a nurse manager, she went back to Pembroke Psychiatric Hospital until she retired.

Donna was proud to be a descendant of the Mayflower, related to the original members John and his wife Elizabeth (Tiley) Howland.

She was also a Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star.

Her favorite place to visit was St. Thomas, and she always wanted to travel to Denmark to research her grandfather's birthplace.

Donna had many interest; Bowling, collecting elephants, reading, crocheting, T-Bird cars, she loved Elvis, the color blue and she loved the ocean. She most of all loved spending time with her family whether it was driving to Canada to visit them, playing games on the holidays, or just being around them. She loved being with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and the furry grandanimals.

She is survived by her daughter Wendy Wyman (Horsman) and her husband Mark of Middleboro, MA. Sister Teri Killam (Russell) of Edmonton Alberta Canada, Brother Christopher Russell of Moncton New Brunswick, Canada.

Grandchildren Alicia Lauture (Shubert) of Plymouth, MA. Joshua Shubert of Middleboro, MA. Kamrin Shubert and girlfriend Julia LaRiviere of Middleboro, MA. Great grandsons Nehemiah and Greyson Lauture of Plymouth, MA.

She is the loving Aunt of Kim Tetley (Killam) and her husband Ed, Keith Killam (who is also her godson) and his wife Tara, Richard Russell, Ross Russell, and his wife Lisa. She also had many grandnieces, nephews, and cousins that she loved dearly.

She also leaves behind her lifelong friend that she shared her birthday with Gloria Hitt formerly of Abington, MA.

She is predeceased by her parents Donald and Hildegarde (Holm) Russell of Moncton New Brunswick, Canada. Sister in-law Jean Russell (Arsenault) Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. Brother in-law Richard Killam of Edmonton, Alberta Canada.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday September 23rd from 5-8pm at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd. Bourne, MA. Burial will be private.
