Colleen Riley Ruggeri, 59, of Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts died peacefully and entered into eternal rest on March 20th, 2025 after a battle with cancer. She leaves behind her cherished husband Robert D. Ruggeri, of 32 years, and three children Robert Ruggeri, Allissa “Grace” Ruggeri, and Christina “Tina-Rose” Ruggeri, all of Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts. She has been reunited in Heaven with her predeceased parents and brothers, Francis and James. Additionally, she leaves behind her beloved Ruggeri Family with whom she shared over 33 years with.
Colleen was born on April 8, 1965, in Silver Spring, Maryland, youngest of six, daughter of Mary M. Riley (Gleason) and Francis X. Riley. She leaves behind her dear sisters, Mary-Ellen Hurley (James), Marie Johnson (Craig), and Karen Nahigian (Robert) as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews, grandniece, and grand nephews. Additionally, many dear life-long friends and colleagues.
She graduated from Burdett School shortly after high school, and received her Bachelor of Science and Masters Degrees from Northeastern University. She started her career with Perini Corporation as a job site accountant/controller for twelve years. When she started a family, she took ten years off from her career to raise her children. During that time, she hosted a Fresh Air Child, taught catechism classes, and sat on her Parish Council for several years. When her children entered school, she re-started her career at Massachusetts Maritime Academy for the next 18 years.
Colleen loved boating along the shores of Cape Cod and the Islands and had a passion for gardening. If she wasn’t working you could find her on the ocean with her husband or in her gardens with her pups where she always stated, “it’s me, God, my thoughts, and dirt.” She loved dearly her family, pets, and home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on April 11th, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Margaret’s Church, Main Street, Buzzards Bay, MA.
