Betty Jean Wylie

Betty Jean Wylie of Pocasset died on August 7, 2014 at the age of 88. She was the wife of the late Raymond Frederick Wylie. Born July 11, 1926 in Bedford, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Ada (Leonard) Watters. She graduated from Bedford High School in 1944. She volunteered at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, MA in the 1960s. She was an avid gardener and was a member of the Weymouth Garden Club. She summered in Pocasset starting in 1968 until retiring to Pocasset permanently in the late 1980’s. She and her husband Raymond spent many winters at their winter home in Ft. Myers, FL. She was a member of the Pocasset Golf Club for many years. She was also very active in the North Falmouth Congregational Church.

She leaves her son, Thomas R. Wylie and his wife Delian D. Wylie of Pocasset (formerly of Hingham) and two grandsons, Gregory and Daniel Wylie. Her sisters, Vivian (Watters) Silsby, Harriet (Watters) Waugerman and her brother Charles Watters preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am on Monday, August 11, 2014 at the North Falmouth Congregational Church, followed by a reception at the church. Burial will be at 1:45 pm at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. All are welcome.
