Arlene Evelyn Brown, 90, of Bourne, died peacefully at Tobey Hospital in Wareham, MA on Thursday, May 18, 2017. She was born to the late Evelyn R. Emery and Francis Allen on Dec. 11, 1926 in Brockton.
She was a graduate of Brockton High School. She was married to the late Edward John Brown, and they raised their family in East Bridgewater, where she was an active community member, before relocating to Bourne. She loved to travel with family and friends, read, write poetry, watch the boat traffic on the canal, and spend time with family and friends.
She is survived by daughters Joyce A. Shepard of Supply, NC and Susan E. Brown of Wareham. She also leaves behind sister Patricia O'Neill of Bourne, along with nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home 40 MacArthur Blvd. Bourne on Wednesday May 24, 2017 from 9:45 - 10:45 AM. Burial will be at Massachusetts National Cemetery at 11:15.
