Annie was born in Queens NY. She worked as a receptionist for many years, but her real life was as an artist, animal whisperer and accomplished horsewoman with the ribbons to show for it!
Annie and Bert were married for 65 years, raising 3 children. During that time they ran a popular greenhouse/nursery and farm with chicks and ducks and geese… as well as goats, sheep and horses among their menagerie. Once Bert retired they moved to their mountain top dream home in rural Virginia where they kept 3 Peruvian Paso horses that Annie rode and showed all over the East Coast.
When home at Cricket Hill, she created beautiful gardens with the flowers she loved so much and cultivated their own personal park.
In their 21 years in Virginia they made a great many dear friends that they were very sorry to leave behind when they moved back to New Jersey.
Annie loved a good time and was famous for her big warm hugs given freely to friends old and new. And sometimes there was a special treat, presentation of one of her beautiful paintings or pastels, treasured by those of us lucky enough to have them.
Beloved wife and mother, she leaves behind her husband Bert, her daughter Catherine Hennessey and husband Edward, her son Bronislaw Szulc and wife Cindy and her youngest daughter Evelyn Busnengo.
Annie will be sorely missed by her adored grand children and the great grand children who so loved their Grannie Annie.
Visiting hours with the family will be Saturday January 3, from 12:00 to 3:00 PM at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home in Bourne. A short service will follow at 3:00PM with Fr. Bruce Czapla officiating.
