Alan Scott Douglas, 72, of Pocasset died unexpectedly at home on November 16, 2015. He was born in Boston, MA, a son of David and Margaret Douglas. He graduated from Bourne High School and Swarthmore College with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was employed at Benthos until retiring two years ago.
In retirement, he continued to pursue his various interests: gardening, antique radios, authored several books, historical research and restorations, including rebuilding local stone walls. He was a man with keen intellect and a generous spirit who selflessly shared his time and knowledge.
He will be deeply missed by his siblings: Lee Hogenauer of Centerville, IN, June Maurer of Holland, VT and Ken Douglas (wife Lyda) of Santa Ana, CA. In addition he leaves his devoted nieces and nephews: Ryan, Kelly, Yvonne, Charlene, Forrest, Jared, Robert, Josh and Caroline; and great nieces and nephews: Nathan, David, Noah, Alex, Joel and Haylee.
There will be a Memorial Service at West Falmouth Friends (Quaker) Meetinghouse at a later date.
