Robert A. Enos (known to all as Bob and to some as “Captain”) of Sagamore Beach, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth, MA. He was the husband of Paula J. (Hyora) Enos and the late Joselyn Enos.
He was born in Taunton, the son of the late Manuel and Mary (Medeiros) Enos. He is survived by his daughter, Jayne Enos and son-in-law Gary Locarno of Boston, sons Robert Enos jr and Michael Enos of Wilmar, Minnesota, and granddaughter Chelsey Locarno of New York City. He also leaves behind his beloved little chihuahua, Tucker, who spent many, many hours on Bob’s lap.
Bob was a veteran of the United States Navy and served four years as a Commissaryman (ship’s cook), Petty Officer 3rd Class on the USS Currutuck. Captain Robert A. Enos served with the Massachusetts State Police Department for 22 years, followed by 30+ years as Director of Security at Leach & Garner Company in Attleboro, MA. He and his son Michael were active members of the Bourne Lions club for many years. Bob was also a member of the American Society of Industrial Security, the Southeastern Police Chiefs, the Massachusetts Police Chiefs, the New England Police Chiefs, the New England Narcotics, the American Association of State Troopers, and most important to Bob the Retired Troopers Association and the Former Massachusetts State Troopers Association.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours from 12:00-1:00 pm followed by a Memorial Service from 1-1:30 pm on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne, MA. All are invited to join the family at a luncheon in celebration of his life from 2-4 pm at the Mezza Luna Restaurant, 253 Main Street, Buzzards Bay.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a scholarship honoring Bob at the Former Massachusetts State Troopers Association (c/o John Sorbera, Treasurer, 217 Linden St., Waltham, MA 02452).
