Tony E Jones

Tony Jones past into the arms of his Savior Sunday morning. He is survived by his wife, Imogene, son, Eugene, daughter, Susan, grandsons Ben, Stephen and Luke. Tony was born in 1920 in Leonard, Texas. He served as a Pharmacist mate in the U.S. Navy 1942 to 1945. Married in1947 graduated from University of Texas in 1948 and received a PhD from University of Colorado in Pharmaceutical Chemistry in 1957. He taught at CU from 1954-1987 and was a research scientist until the last months of his life. He was also the creator and co-editor for the American Drug Index and member of multiple honor societies. Dr Jones created many well-known products from pain alleviators to hand creams. He was a charter member and driving force behind the creation of Southern Hills Baptist Church and East Boulder Baptist Church. Tony Jones has enriched all of our lives, not only through his research, but through his relationship with his Savior. He is missed but his legacy goes on. Funeral services will be held at East Boulder Baptist Church this Friday, August 17th, at 10am, with a reception to follow. Graveside services will be held at 12:30pm at Mountain View Memorial Park in Boulder. Viewing will be at Crist Mortuary Thursday evening from 6pm to 8pm.
