When I was in college I had unhealthy habits that were making me sick. My mom brought me to Ting and he forever changed my life. The treatment lasted hours, and he kept popping in to check on me, would witness the involuntary tears streaming from my eyes and the needles wavering on their own in a pattern, and then twist the needles in deeper as he said, “good, the chi is moving”. He was right. I had been so stuck at such a young age and he unabashedly took care of it. I am forever grateful. I just found this page for him as I am headed back to visit boulder and was hoping to see him again. Ting, I think of you often. You inspired me to become a naturopathic doctor and I learned from the wisdom of your approach to medicine. Fix what you find. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

I was looking up Dr. Zhang and saw that he passed. He is a memorable person. He treated me 17 years ago and I still remember him. He was kind, calm and knowledgeable. May you rest in peace.

Just was looking for Ting and saw that he passed. What a lovely man and truly gifted healer! Ting helped me get pregnant with my 2nd child which was no easy feat. I remember brewing this nasty tasting tea and calling him when I found some kind of carcass in my bag. He just chuckled and said I wasn’t supposed to inspect it, just brew it and drink it. Which Of course, I did. His humor and laugh were infectious. Thank you for everything Ting. All my love on your next journey.

Ting was amazing.  An amazing healer and gentle man. In 2003 when I came to ting with flaccid paralysis of my right side due to West Nile virus , ensephilitis and meningitis Ting worked kindly, patiently and successfully to regain the use of my right arm and leg. Without him I would not be walking talking or moving my arm

Ting had such an incredible amount of warmth and wisdom. So many of my thoughts and memories about Ting go back to the way he would greet me over the years and welcome me into his space.  It didn't matter how many people he saw before me or how many he would see after me or what was going on in the world, when I entered his space it felt very special and sacred. I miss his smile and his laugh most of all and think about him often. I feel honored to have been in his care over the past five years or so.

My heart goes out to his family and friends. He helped so many in our community and I hope that knowledge brings you much peace. Thank you for sharing him with us and thank you for sharing the pictures of his beautiful smiling face.

I'm so sorry to hear of Ting's passing. He helped me so much during fertility issues many years ago, which was such a difficult time. I now have a healthy 7 year old and I believe his work was instrumental to support me in that journey.

While researching acupuncture medicine today, I learned of Ting's passing. This is very sad news. 

Acupuncture with Ting during 2003/2004 made a lasting impact on my approach to health and well-being. Ting's insightful comments developed my curiosity in eastern medicine. Since then, I thought often of Ting, informed others of the book he wrote, and passed on advice he provided.

So sorry for your loss. We are all so very lucky to have known him.

Ting was the best acupuncturist I've ever been to...I lived in Boulder for a long time but moved back to Kansas City two years ago. Whenever I traveled to Colorado, I made sure to schedule a session with him. He was that good! Add to that his wonderful personality. I loved hearing stories of his Canadian fishing trips, how he moved to the States, what it was like living in China. He was so kind and compassionate and patient and he had a wonderful laugh! Always smiling.  He is so missed!!!

Ting was an amazing healer!  He helped me during a very stressful time when I was trying to get pregnant.  His care was exceptional and we were successful finally, with the birth of our twins.  I am so saddened by his passing and my thoughts and prayers are with you.


I was a patient of Ting's for many years and echo all of the sentiments of others who have written here. He was warm, compassionate, kind, gentle, and a genuine healer. He radiated joy and was quick to joke and invoke laughter. It's hard to believe that he is gone, and I so wish I could have the opportunity to see and talk with him one last time. I was so sad when I learned of Doctor Ting's passing.  His wisdom and compassion truly changed my life for the better.  I didn't find Ting until about 4 or 5 years ago and have traveled from Kansas repeatedly to get wonderful treatments from him.  The world lost a true Master.  I will always fondly remember him with deep appreciation and thankfulness.  I am sure I am not alone in feeling like the world has suffered a great loss here.  To the family please know many were benefited by his vast knowledge and caring and he will be deeply missed.

I'm deeply sad to hear of Ting's passing. He brought me back to full health from Meniere's Disease years ago, and has supported my heath for twenty years. He was always kind, dignified, and so very skilled. We have lost a great clinician and human.

I am so sorry to hear of Ting's passing. He treated by wife's severe autoimmune disease for over 15 years and gave her a quality of life that me and my children never imagined and the best doctors in Colorado never thought possible. I feel so blessed to have known Ting for the past 20 years. He was a gifted acupuncturist who used his healing hands to bring me back to health when I was in dire need. He was a loving soul that was taken too soon and my thoughts are with his family and precious grandchildren that he was so very proud of.

Ting was so sweet and caring.  He had a wonderful smile and always made me laugh. He was the smartest and most gifted healer I have seen. I saw Ting for 25 years and he helped me and my family so much. I owe him a lot and I am so grateful to have known him. 

I am covered with a deep sadness. I have been seeing Ting since the early 1990s. The last time I saw him we talked about we were friends for over 25 years. Our world is lessened by his passing. But I know his Essence still IS........

Ting Liang Zhang will always remain in my heart. 

His skill as a practitioner helped reverse and then remove cancer from my prostate; while at the same time, revitalizing my energy in a way that  allowed me to become the person I am today. 

I owe Ting a debt a gratitude that I can now only pay forward. 

You were a miracle for so many of us. And now you have been taken from us too soon. 

I can only imagine you were sorely needed in your next incarnation.

Ting was a very wise, gentle, kind, gifted and compassionate acupuncturist and healer.   I am grateful that he was a part of my life for almost 20 years as my acupuncturist.   

I always trusted what Ting recommended for my health, and appreciated his words of wisdom such as "eat more steamed vegetables", "take hot bath or shower", "take it easy", "get more rest", etc.  He was a tremendous part of health and healing for me, my family and friends.  I,  too, started seeing Ting when I was having  fertility problems, and had the pleasure of brewing his pungent smelling concoction/tea ... just one of many memories of being his patient!  :)  

 The world was a better place with Ting and he will be deeply missed.    My sincere condolences to out to his family.

Ting was the primary caregiver for our family for decades. The feeling of his office was special as the atmosphere felt sacred without being religious. Ordinary and elemental. I was fortunate to experience the wisdom of Chinese medicine from as skilled and caring practitioner as Ting. He helped so many people.
There is so much more to say but I can't find the words.

We are very heartbroken to hear that Ting passed away and our thoughts and prayers are with his family.  I was a patient of Ting's for over a decade and without him we would not have our seven year old son. We loved Ting and will be forever grateful for him and his gifted practice.

28 years ago I first went to Ting because Infertility doctors had given up on me. 
Ting took my pulse, looked at my tongue and said, “There is no problem for you to have a baby. You just have low spleen energy.”  
Less than 2 months later I was pregnant with my son.  Three years later my daughter was born. 
Ting has been there, regularly, for almost 3 decades helping me navigate life’s challenges and maintain general good health. 

He was a lovely person in every way. His passing is a colossal loss. His kind, calm, positive essence was a blessing for all.
