Ruth E. Taylor was born on December 20, 1926 in Lafayette. She lived and grew up in the Boulder area and graduated from Boulder High School in 1945. She frequently looked at her yearbook, remembering friends and teachers before passing to Heaven with Jesus Christ, her Good Shepherd, Lamb of God, Lord, Savior, and Redeemer on August 20, 2012. Ruth was 85 years old.
Ruth enjoyed a good career as a telephone operator at Mountain Bell. She married Mark Taylor on February 10, 1945. Additionally, Ruth volunteered with the YMCA in Oklahoma City and was awarded a membership for her family as a result of her efforts. Ruth took new golfers under her wing and made friends when teaching the rules of golf as they were joining the South Glenn Country Club's Women's Golf Association. She also enjoyed playing bridge.
Ruth's greatest achievement was running a phone bank to get voters to vote for establishing the city of Centennial for hundreds of thousands of families. Ruth is survived by older daughter Marian (David) Gay; younger daughter Kathy Fairall; grandson Eric (Michelle) Grey and 1 year old great-grandson Anthony Grey.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Mountain View Memorial Park.
