Robert Peter Dobransky

On March 30, 2024, Robert “Bob” Dobransky (86) passed away peacefully, surrounded with the love of his family, both near and far. Bob was born in the Bronx, New York on May 4, 1937, to Edward and Peggy Dobransky (both deceased). Bob was united in marriage to Reneé Cartier (deceased) in Yonkers, New York in 1959. He and Reneé began their family life and moved to Poughkeepsie, New York where Bob established his career with IBM as an engineer.

In 1965, they moved to Colorado and made their home in the new development of Table Mesa. The family lived in Tucson, Arizona for a brief period (1978-1985) and then returned “home” to south Boulder. Bob retired from IBM after 30 years. Bob enjoyed singing and was an active member of a number of metro area choral groups including the Boulder Chorale and the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church choir. Bob enjoyed connecting with others and you could always count on him to share a story of the “good old days” growing up in New York, his international travels or to offer some sage advice on a variety of topics.

Bob was known for his commitment to his family, creating many adventures in the great outdoors in both Colorado and Arizona. He was a beloved father to seven children - Pete, Jane (Phil Pitzer), Lynn, Beth, Mark (Jennifer), Chris (Jill), and Tim (Carissa). Bob was also a proud “grandpoo-pa” to Michael, Joseph, Daniel, Jessica, Katie, Steven (deceased), Aidan, Sage, Anna, Shelby, Emily, Lane, Sean, Max, Noah, Maggie, Iris, Shaianne, Keylei, and Talia. Bob was also a gentle great-grandpa to Raelyn, Paisley, Zoey, Mason, Wyatt (deceased), Aubrey, Koda, Tucker, Gunnar, Walker, Oliver, Abby, Ally and Sam. Bob is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Rita and Joe Wilhelm, nieces Lynette and Elizabeth and their families. Bob is also survived by his sister-in-law Joanne Dobransky, wife of his brother Eddy (deceased).

A Mass of Catholic Burial will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Boulder. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Park.
