Bob Cifor was a wonderful man. He had a great heart and a great mind. He was gregarious, generous and well liked by his many friends. Bob was kind and considerate of others and always interested in sharing his knowledge of everything from baseball to music. He spoke Romanian, French, and some Hungarian as well as English.
As a young man he played baseball, ran track and was a competitive tennis player. He had a great freshman year at Rutgers, but suffered after that from Bi-Polar disease. In his later life he also struggled with Parkinson’s disease.
After a twenty year friendship with Elizabeth Higman they married and spent the best years of Bob’s life together in their home in Longmont.
Bob had significant health problems and after surgery for a broken hip he developed pneumonia which was his final illness.
Bob was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth and is survived by his sister, Candis Cooke of Boulder CO, his brother, John Cifor of Orlando FL, his nephew Kelly A. Cooke Jr, and two cousins George and Jillian Cooke of Erie, CO, and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Alice Reich and Lee Shannon of Denver CO.
A private memorial service is planned.
