Rikki was born in July 1995, in Louisville, Colorado. She graduated in 2013 from Centaurus High School in Lafayette and went on to attend classes at Front Range Community College in pursuit of a career in nursing. Rikki would eventually change career paths and was hired by King Soopers in early 2016. There, she pursued her dream to become a store manager and moved up the ranks of the grocery store chain over the course of her five years with the company. Rikki loved her King Soopers family and strived to be not only a great manager within the company, but also a great friend to her colleagues and an employee who brought smiles to her customers.
Rikki Olds was truly one of a kind. She didn’t follow trends—she made them. From the outside, you might notice her colorful hair, her laughter, her tattoos and piercings. For those lucky enough to call her friend, you knew she was the type of person who would always be there for you and would encourage you to be exactly who you wanted to be, regardless of what others thought.
Rikki had a bubbly personality, with an infectious laughter and a smile that lit up the room. Outside of work, Rikki enjoyed a variety of interests from hiking and other outdoor activities to playing golf and spending time with family and friends, including her best friends Brittany and Jeremicah and her devoted boyfriend Jordan. She also had a love for her favorite animal, the octopus, the color pink, cats and a variety of music.
Whatever Rikki set her mind to do, she would do it. She had the tenacity and big dreams to make a great life for herself and to help others along the way.
Rikki is preceded in death by her grandfather “Papaw” Richard Olds, who helped raise her. She is survived by her grandmother, Jeanette Olds, who Rikki considered to be her mom. Rikki is also survived by her aunt, Lori Olds, her “Uncle Roberto” Robert Olds, her brother Keith Whitehead, sister Bryanna Whitehead, and Christina Cruz. She also leaves behind many loving cousins, great aunts and uncles.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life service honoring Rikki on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at 11 a.m. The service is open to the public and will be held at Boulder Valley Christian Church, 7100 S. Boulder Road, Boulder, CO 80303. Those unable to attend may watch a livestream of the service at: www.bvchristian.org/live.
