Margarita Hernandez was born on February 22, 1936 in Juarez Chihuahua, Mexico. She was married at the age of 17 to Luis Manuel Hernandez, They had four children, Luis Manuel Hernandez, Maria Ines DeLaRiva, Maria Elia Guzmán and Martha Irma Rosales. She separated from her husband very early in life and raised her children on her own.
Margarita also loved cooking and listening to music. Her favorite artist was Vicente Fernández whom she called her boyfriend and Juan Gabriel, one of her hometown stars. She never remarried and lived alone in Juarez most of her life in a house she built with her hard work and help of some family members who helped her with the land where she built her home. Every Saturday was the day she cooked for her kids and grandchildren who came to visit.
In 2001, Margarita became ill with Alzheimer’s Disease and had to move to El Paso, Texas with her daughter Maria Ines and her husband Roberto. In 2018, her illness became a lot worse and she moved to Boulder, Colorado with her daughter Martha and her husband Jesus Rosales. She lived a happy life during her stay in Boulder. She enjoyed sitting outside and watching TV and the company of her family. On April 24, 2021 when she passed away quietly and naturally surrounded by her three daughters, son in law, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Margarita leaves behind 3 daughters, 15 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren. She was a great woman, a very hard worker, funny and full of life. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Her memory and example will be a great pride for all of us who love her, a great woman who fought until the end. Today she joins her son Luis and grandson Jesus Luis in Heaven and is resting in peace with God.
